Hi there!!! It's Kristi signing in today! So I know I am a very bad blogger, the girls know this, I know this and I am sure you do too! In fact, it is my goal to be a better blogger this year! I am starting with my personal blog and then I hope to do better on this one too!!!!
Ok so you know if I am blogging that means there is something VERY exciting!!!!!
Actually... There are a lot of reallllly exciting things... Some I can share some I can't... Some I can give sneaks of... some I can't! Hee Hee Hee I just love the suspense!!!!! Ok so first off... I had an extremely exciting 3 days at CHA! I got to meet some wonderful designers, Tim Holtz, Heidi Swapp, Teresa Collins, Mr. Bazzil himself, and more but my brain is on overload! Those were the really exciting ones!

Those of you that are Scrap Review fans, Mom and I FINALLY got to meet the WONDERFUL Ashley Harris!!! I just love her!

More importantly I got to see, touch, smell and taste (literally) everything coming out!!! Oh my goodness!!!!! I wanted to jump up and down and wriggle all around!!! LOL Ok enough non-sense! I've tried to pick my top 5 but that was impossible... So here are my "top picks"

KISS - Keep it Super Simple Challenge

It seems that each passing year in the recent future has all of us cutting back a little more and a little more. We are becoming more cautious with our spending and more realistic with what we REALLY need in our lives. So along those lines my challenge to you is to keep it simple.... your card or layout may use only ONE (or none) piece of patterned paper and only ONE embellishment. You can have whateve you like for a title or sentiment but keep it simple - one embellishment and one pp. Come join the fun! You will recieve one ticket per entry into the grand-prize drawing!!!

Holiday Ornaments with a Tutorial!

Well I came across this GREAT tutorial of some holiday ornaments. They are beautiful, 3-d and made primarily of my favorite ingredient - PAPER!! here is a link to the tutorial on YouTube and here are the ornaments that I made! The bigger one, I scaled up from the tutorial. As you make your strips of paper longer, you have to add more to keep it full.If you play with it, you'll figure out the right quantity of strips for each length. If you make an ornament, please upload it to our gallery and link it to the challenge thread Here. I can't wait to see what you make!

Photography Challenge

Hello Everyone! I would love to have you join us for a great photography challenge this month! This month is all about Being Thankful! In crazy times like these and this month being Thanksgiving, lets see some pictures on what we are "Thankful" for. This could be anything. The rules this month are to use the Third rule and be really creative! With this month, for every photo entry there will be a entry into a Grand Prize Drawing. Also in another thread I will post a layout or sketch challenge for you to use this month's photo which will be another entry. You have until the end of the 30th to complete this challenge as well as the layout/sketch.

Try something new challenge!!!!

Ok ladies, since I've been back in my scrapping/crafting groove I've been really excited to learn about and try some new techniques! So for this challenge I want you to try something you haven't done before! Maybe it's something you're afraid of. Maybe it's something you bought and is hiding in the back of your closet that you forgot was there....but I want to see you get some courage and try something new!

Some ideas are:
Wet or dry embossing
Coloring in a stamp
Sewing on a layout (hand or machine)
Hand doodling
Using beads or metal
Using different fonts in your layout
Making a layout without a photo
Making a card without a sentiment
Use raffia on your project
Alcohol Inks
Color using chalks and a q-tip
Dry glittering

I learned about a new product called Flower Soft (http://www.flower-soft.us.com/) when I was at a scrapbooking store a few hours from my house. It's basically like flocking (or pocket lint...hehe) that is colored and you glue it to your page. I used it on the snowman's hat.

A November Challenge!

Hello all you Coast2Coast blog followers! I wanted to share one of our November challenges with you. This challenge is fairly simple and few rules to follow. I was hoping to make it 'easy' so many people would feel inclined to take part! The requirements of this challenge are:

1) Your layout must be of children (yours, someone elses...doesn't matter as long as they're under 18 in the photo)
2) Use exactly two photos, no more, no less.

I made a Halloween layout of my niece and nephew, two of the cutest kiddo's on the planet! If you choose to play, you can link your image to this thread.

Happy Fall everyone!!! I feel so scrappyjuvinated! (haha I know that is not even a word!) But oh well it is just how I feel! I just spent the weekend with the "SCRAPJACKMAMMA" as well as the Enabler and the Cowgirl! It was a great weekend of scrappiness!!!

I have come up with several challenges this weekend and I got some great RAK's to give away to some lucky winners!

October Challenge - Layouts with Professional Portaits

We're all budding professional photographers, right? :)

My challenge for you this month is to scrapbook a layout with portraits taken in a professional studio or at school. These pictures sometimes get lost in the shuffle or covered up by more recent pictures --- but we're creators!!! Let's do more with these portraits! We've shelled out enough $$$ for them, right? ;) Try creating a layout with these lovelies and see how you can get more out of these photos than a few months on your walls. :) Show me your creativity!

Only a few more days left of this month and our first crop! Hope you've all been able to get lots and lots of creating done! I know that I've finally found some scrappy mojo thanks to all the awesome challenges!

Just wanted to encourage you all, if you haven't already, to post your "BEFORE" pictures of your scrappy space as well as your "AFTER" shots for the CLEAN IT UP Challenge! In the spirit of the New Year and making a fresh start on a new awesome scrappy HQ, give your scrappy space a little once over. Here are some ideas:

Add a new decorative element.
Try a new storage solution.
Sort out your old/unused stuff and donate/share/sell/trade it.
Clear the clutter piles.
Rearrange your furniture to try something new.
Completely revamp the space, if you're able! :)

This is a great opportunity to get you going on all the other fabulous challenges we have posted in our Kick Off Crop section of the message board. A clean space lends itself to creativity! :)
